The Challenge
In the world of high-end Pokémon card collecting, Dubsy is somewhat of an enigma. One part prolific collector, and another, a Banksy-esque mystery, our job for him was to create a digital island home that houses some of his most precious pop-culture artifacts. To do this, we had to tap into exactly what makes the digital space so dynamic and pay homage to one of the world's most iconic—and valuable—franchises in recent history.
The Narrative
Together with our partners at the Nescius, we crafted the world of Dubsy; a gamified, story-based art gallery that takes users on a perilous journey to save Dubsy's own partner Pokémon, Charizard. Through intricately crafted landscapes and lore-based character design, we brought the universe of Pokémon card collecting to life.
The Inspiration
Aesthetically, we took heavy inspiration from the source material, ensuring both character design and locale art stay true to the franchise. Every asset, motion, or viewpoint—from architecture to a single tree—deserves the same attention to detail. The team at the Nescius was instrumental in achieving a consistent graphic style and visual tone.
